Criminalising Women

Most women in the Australian prison system have faced abuse in their past. But with an emphasis placed on punishment rather than rehabilitation, re-offending rates are high, and a majority struggle to re-integrate into society. This documentary follows three women as they navigate an institutional system designed not to bring about change in individuals, but to isolate them.
