Sergey Loznitsa

Sergei Vladimirovich Loznitsa or Serhii Volodymyrovych Loznytsia, is a Ukrainian filmmaker of Belarusian origin. He is most known for his archival footage documentaries about Soviet Union history, and for his slow cinema dramatic films. His feature films My Joy, In the Fog, A Gentle Creature, and Two Prosecutors, were nominated for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. While his documentaries The Event, State Funeral, and Babi Yar. Context, received critical acclaim.
